What Is Micro-Needling?
Micro-Needling, is a minimally-intrusive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as diminish scars on the face and body. The treatment uses a perpendicular micro-needling technology (NanoPen™) to create tiny, evenly-spaced puncture wounds which in turn, trigger a healing response of the body, producing new collagen and elastin. This procedure can be performed on the face, neck, hands and body. For larger areas, we recommend the Dermaroller™.
The multi-speed and adjustable needle depths allow the needles to pierce the skin’s layers at 90 degrees and increases the effectiveness of needling by generating a precise, comfortable and relatively short needling session, while providing less pain and downtime. This technique can effectively impact difficult to reach areas such as around the eyes, nose and lips. Because of the vertical delivery, the needles can easily penetrate scar tissue and promotes healing similar to fractional laser treatments, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), laser resurfacing, and chemical peels, without the side effects or downtime, at only a fraction of the cost. The mechanism of injury is a natural process, which makes CRT an organic method to healing skin.
Does Micro Needling Hurt?
Before a medical skin needling treatment, a topical anesthetic is usually applied to minimize any discomfort. The device is then applied to the skin to create evenly spaced puncture wounds. The length of the needles will vary depending on how deep into the skin the needles need to penetrate – generally, the deeper the penetration, the more profound the results. In addition, this technique allows us to infuse pharmaceutical grade therapeutic serums for greater absorption and penetration, which further increases effectiveness. Treatment can take anywhere between 20-60 minutes depending on the area you are having treated. Clients report a gentle “pin prick” sensation during treatment.
Will Micro Needling Work On My Skin?
Collagen Regeneration Therapy is suitable for all skin types, and for those who wish to improve lax skin, smooth lines and wrinkles, reduce the signs of the aging or improve the appearance of scarring.
What Happens After Micro Needling Treatment?
After Collagen Regeneration Therapy treatment, your skin will usually be slightly pink and you may experience some mild bleeding and bruising depending on the length of the needle used during your treatment. The downtime with this treatment is very brief and complete recovery is expected between 24-72 hours. A series of 2-5 treatments is usually recommended to achieve maximum results and as the outcome relies on stimulating your body’s own collagen production, it can take 4-8 weeks to see the maximum benefits. It is also often advised to use pharmaceutical grade skincare at home to enhance your results.
